Membership

Membership in the Seattle Reading Council includes membership in the Washington Organization for Reading Development (WORD), the state affiliate of the International Reading Association.

We'd love to have you join us!
Here’s why …

  • Join professional colleagues dedicated to the teaching of reading.
  • Get two memberships in one -- SRC and the Washington Organization for Reading Development (WORD), the state literacy association.
  • Receive advanced information about SRC and WORD events, as well as the WORD newsletter
  • Qualify for discounted registration at SRC and WORD conferences and events.

Joining is easy -- just follow these directions:

Online: Go to http://www.wordreading.org. Click on “Join or Renew Membership” on left-side menu. Click on “Join or Renew Online Now” in the menu column on the right side. Click on “Sign up now” and follow the on-screen directions. Select Seattle as your “Local Council Affiliation.” Select “Regular Membership” for $20 or "Associate Membership" for $10 (for students enrolled in a teacher preparation program, substitute teachers, non-contract teachers, paraeducators, and retired teachers).
